Continuing Education Classes
Pre-Licensing Classes

Indiana
Every licensed agent must acquire 40 continuing education hours every four years
in order to renew his or her license (prior to new
law effective 1/1/2001). If an agent is selling Long
Term Care products, he or she must have specific hours covering that topic. All classes sponsored
by Professional Training Institution have been approved by the
Indiana Department of Insurance.

Times:8 hour classes run from 8:00am to 5:00pm
7 hour classes run from 8:00am to 4:00pm
An hour is taken for lunch at 12:00 noon. Classes begin at 8:00am unless marked as being an afternoon
class. Afternoon classes begin at 1:00pm. All times are based on the local time of the respective city
in which the class is held.

Certificates of Completion can only be issued after the class has been attended in its entirety;
there is no make-up policy.

Kentucky
Every licensed agent must acquire 24 continuing education hours every biennium in order to
renew his or her license. Ethics hours are mandatory,(minimum of 3 CE hours). Six hours must be acquired in
the Line of License Authority. Twelve of the 24 hours MUST be in a classroom setting. Ce hours may be carried
over into the next biennium EXCEPT for the Ethics hours. The next renewal of licenses will be June 30, 2006.
Proof of hours must be submitted to the Department of Insurance by the provider.
All classes sponsored by Professional Training Institution have been approved by the Kentucky
Department of Insurance.

PTI will begin teaching classes in several locations throughout Kentucky starting in January 2006.
At the present time, Kentucky agents may attend classes at the Evansville and
Clarksville locations. Classes must be approved for Kentucky, please call PTI.
