Title: 2011 Energy Conservation Code Update for Residential Approved For:

Description: -Proposed Indiana Residential Energy Chapter Instructor - Craig Wagner This class will cover the proposed amendment that will update Chapter 11, the energy conservation chapter, of the 2005 InRC. The class will cover the history of the Federal requirement, and Indiana’s process, that will bring the 2009 IRC Chapter 11, with Indiana’s amendments, into the 2005 InRC. Definitions and the insulating values of the different energy components and their use in assemblies will be discussed. Included in the discussion will be a review of the new climate zone map, updates to the prescriptive R-value and U-value tables and the proposed performance option. Participants will review proper insulation placement, sealing and gasketing requirements, and HVAC duct work systems for structures. Special emphasis will be placed on the new requirements for air barriers. The class will also cover new system control and lighting requirements for structures built under the 2005 InRC. The US DOE ResCheck computer program will be reviewed to familiarize the class participants with its use in residential energy compliance. If available at the time of the class, the effective date of the code amendment will be announced.

Description: - 2010 Indiana Energy Conservation Code (Class 1 Structures) Instructor - Craig Wagner This class will cover the 2010 Indiana Energy Conservation Code. The class will cover the history of the Federal requirement, and Indiana’s process, that replaced the 1992 Indiana rule with the amended ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007 Energy Standard for Buildings Except for Low-rise Residential Buildings.
